About this site
TannerTalks is an independent project by Tanner Gaffey, launched in May 2026.
I’m currently pursuing a career in clinical mental health while working in adolescent residential treatment and studying social work and psychology. Over time, I became increasingly interested in how artificial intelligence is beginning to influence the way people think, behave, communicate, and understand themselves.
This site exists as a place to explore those ideas carefully and honestly.
A lot of conversations around AI tend to fall into extremes on either end of the spectrum. In my experience, the result is either exaggerated optimism or constant fear. My interest is less about hype and more about understanding the psychological, social, and human implications of these systems as they become more integrated into everyday life.
Here you’ll find writing, reflections, and discussions focused on:
- Psychology and human behavior
- Mental health and therapy
- AI and cognition
- Technology’s influence on identity and relationships
- The future intersection of clinical work and artificial intelligence
My goal isn’t to present myself as someone with all the answers. This is an ongoing attempt to think critically about where these technologies are taking us, and what that may mean for mental health, human connection, and the future of clinical practice.
By joining the email list, you’ll get updates whenever new content is published. No algorithms, no noise. Just direct access to the work.
